Mental Mill AE comes with FX Composer 2 in May 2007

Filed under: GameDev, The World of 3D — dominique @ 01:47

Once Virtools Dev Users asked for Shader-Authoring using graphs … in meanwhile we not only saw such technology used in a couple of other engines (i.e. offset engine, Unreal3 engine) but also in products like the one from Lumonix or the discontinued RTZen's Ginza and ShaderWorks. (which btw. was inspired by ShaderMan for RenderMan). Now there will be another product aaaaand  …. it will be for free …

  1. This is indeed awsome news ! I've been waiting for this for over a year and it looks like the wait has been worth it. _Graph based shader development _Art-pipeline integration features (semantic remapping) _Shader performance profiling YAY If only virtools would support Collada FX, the integration into the art-pipeline would be even simpler. But I think we will be able to get this to work fine anyway.
